HOTLINE:  1-800-Lost-Bet is operated by professionals and volunteers.  This line receives thousands of calls every year from compulsive gamblers and their loved ones who are in crisis. OUTPATIENT TREATMENT:  This treatment is offered at our center for those individuals who do not meet the criteria for residential treatment.  This treatment to seems to be very effective for those who are in the early stages of the gambling addiction cycle.  However, for those who are in the later stages or have gambled for a long period of time, residential treatment may be the only option for some. EVALUATIONS/ASSESSMENTS:  The center conducts initial evaluations for treatment purposes, but we also conduct them for other various organizations such as Parole & Probation, State and Federal Courts, Employers, etc.  The evaluation is used to determine the stage of the addiction cycle the individual may be in at the present time and also to deliver a recommended treatment plan. LIBRARY:  Our library houses many articles, books, journals, tapes, and manuscripts on compulsive gambling.  Students, Governmental/ legislative aides and media contacts all use and are encouraged to use our library. TRAINING:  Training is provided both at the Center and across the country for mental health and allied professionals to educate them on compulsive gambling addiction. INTERN SITE:  The Center serves as an externship site for graduate students in clinical psychology.  Our externship is currently done with Argossy University. SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS:  We are often called upon to be special guest speakers around the country to educate audiences about this addiction.
