Harbour Pointe, our residential treatment program to treat compulsive gambling, was founded 20 years ago making our facility the oldest treatment center in the country solely dedicated to treating compulsive gambling.

Harbour Pointe offers 4-6 weeks of intensive residential treatment for the compulsive gambler. Some clients may require more or less time, but that recommendation would be made following the initial evaluation/assessment.

Our residential program is unique in many ways in that we treat compulsive gambling exclusively and our primary emphasis is on an individualized treatment approach opposed to one that focuses on more group work and treats many addictions. Because most of our clients schedule primarily consists of individual sessions, our therapy is specifically designed to fit the needs of that particular client. For this reason alone, many of our clients travel from around the country and the world to receive our treatment.

Our residential program is limited from seven to nine beds. So therefore, it is necessary to conduct a phone evaluation and assessment first to determine if the client meets the criteria to be admitted into our residential program.

We are not a lock down facility. All clients are with us on a voluntary basis. There is a resident manager that lives onsite to watch after the clients and to make sure that the house rules are followed after the staff leaves the building. Each client has their own bedroom, however they share bathroom/shower areas, living room with TV and kitchen space. Clients are not permitted to hold onto any money, cell phones, laptops, credit cards, or anything else the staff deems as gambling paraphernalia during their stay with us.

We are conveniently located in downtown Baltimore and there is no need for clients to have transportation while at our facility, since everything is within walking distance.
